Meet Our Coaching Staff
Head Coach

Brielle Woodruff
Hello, my name is Brielle and I am very excited for my fourth season with the Flippers and my second season as Head Coach! I swam competitively for the last 14 years, and have just completed my Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University while competing on the varsity swim team. I have been coaching for almost 5 years, including with the Flippers, a Masters swimming program, and Pacific Sea Wolves and am a Level 1 certified by the National Coaching Certification Program. I am passionate about creating a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, and teaching athletes to find achievement through the process of improvement and dedication. I believe swimming is not only an amazing life skill, but also provides countless opportunities for swimmers to grow as people. Outside of the pool, my hobbies include enjoying nature, reading and consuming caffeine!

Oliver Griffioen
My name is Oliver, this is my fourth summer with the Langley Flippers, and I couldn’t be more excited for it! Swimming and all things water related have always been a huge part of my life. Now, and when I was a kid. I loved being able to grow up swimming, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to coach and help others enjoy it as much as I did. I will also be continuing working as an electrical apprentice for Tytan Electrical this summer, and I have recently completed my year 1 schooling at the KPU tech campus. My goal for this summer is to continue learning and improving as a coach, and create a safe, inclusive place for swimmers to learn, make friends, work hard, and of course, have fun! I am so excited for this summer and I can’t wait to see everyone at the pool!

Erik
Hi everyone! My name is Erik, and I’m excited to be coaching with the Langley Flippers this season. I come from a competitive swimming background where I was a multiple-time provincial medalist and competed at high-level meets across Canada, including Canadian Trials. Through my experience, I developed strong technique, race strategy, and discipline in the sport, with a focus on butterfly events. After the 2025 season, I decided to step away from competitive swimming to focus on my academics. I am currently studying sciences at UBC with the goal of pursuing a career in dentistry, while continuing to stay active through regular training in the gym. I’m excited to now transfer my passion for the sport into coaching. My goal is to help swimmers build confidence, improve their skills, and push themselves to reach their full potential, all while creating a positive and motivating environment on deck. Looking forward to a great season!

Rashidah
I am a dedicated swimming coach committed to fostering a positive and competitive environment for athletes of all levels. With a deep passion for aquatic excellence and a focus on technical precision, I specialize in stroke refinement, endurance building, and mental preparation. My coaching philosophy "Swimming is as much about mental resilience as it is about physical technique. My goal is to build athletes who are not only fast in the pool but also disciplined and resilient in life."

Martyna Zukowska: Intro to Competitive Coach
Hello! My name is Martyna, and I am super excited for my second season with Langley Flippers! I am currently a swimmer with the club, but I have been swimming my entire life and competitively for around 8 years, as well as I recently started doing Life-saving Sport. I have been coaching my high school swim team for going on three years, and I've been an instructor volunteer/worker for years. I love all things water related and helping people improve their swimming skills. When I'm not at the pool I'm either at the track, playing with my cats or reading a good book. I can't wait for this summer season to start, see you at the pool!
